This is a compact luxury apartment of 53m2 with a balcony of 7m2 in a four star apartment block built by MGM and finished in 2001. The apartment faces north east and has views directly to Mont Blanc across the valley where Bourg St Maurice is situated. The accommodation consists of a double bedroom with shower and handbasin, two twin bedrooms, a lounge dining room with a settee-twin bed, a bathroom and a toilet. There is an open kitchen with dish washer, 4-plate hob, microwave, fridge/freezer. There is a swimming pool and sauna/hammam (free) on the ground floor of the block. There is also a private ski locker. The apartment is fully furnished and sheets and towels are provided within the price, as is heating and electricity and cleaning. There is a telephone line that can be enabled for incoming and outgoing calls. Outgoing calls are charged at a rate typical of a public payphone, ie not too exorbitant. A garage space can normally be rented for about 50 Euros. A "set" (cot, high chair etc) for small children is available free if ordered in advance from reception.
The apartment has fantastic views from the balcony which is sunlit during the first part of the morning. The apartment block is located in a quiet part of Les Arcs above the main shopping centre and ski lifts, which is 5 minutes walk away. There is a free shuttle bus that passes the apartment. This is one of the highest locations that you can stay comfortably overnight in the Alps.
Further information
There is extensive information about Les Arcs available on the Internet, see:
Travel
Les Arcs 1800 is the largest of the Les Arcs resorts and can be reached by funicular from the main station at Bourg St Maurice to Arcs 1600. There is a shuttle bus from Les Arcs 1600 to Les Arcs 1800. There is one Eurostar per Saturday direct from Waterloo to Bourg St Maurice. Otherwise the best access is to fly to Geneva or Lyon by Easyjet or BA and hire a car. At Geneva the cars are cheaper on the French side of the airport but you must collect and return the car at the French side. The drive from Geneva to Les Arcs takes 2-3 hours via Annecy. It is about 2 hours from Lyon. There are also some flights to Chambery. Driving time from Calais is approximately 10 hours. The reception stays open very late on Saturdays to accomodate late arrivals.
